Small-flowered Crowfoot (Rununculuc abortivus), AKA Kidney-leaved Buttercup is flowering.
The Phoebes that nest under my barn have laid one egg so far. Five is a usual first clutch.
The warm brown colors of a Pine Elfin butterfly blend well with dead grasses and leaves.
And the paired yellow flowers of American Fly Honeysuckle dangle beneath the emerging leaves.
