Today Harebell AKA Bluebell is in flower.
The first few pale yellow flowers of Rough-fruited Cinquefoil have opened. My field guide lists twelve Cinquefoils many of which can be found locally.
And the hoary gray-green leaves of Clammy Ground Cherry hide its dark-centered yellow flowers. This plant is sticky, hairy and a bit unpleasant to the touch … but its flowers are attractive.
