Today I saw dozens of Golden-backed Snipe Flies, one of the 25 Snipe fly species north of Mexico This one has the heavy egg-laden abdomen of a female.
Maiden Pink is in flower. Oddly enough a small percentage of these 'pinks' are white.
Lance-leaved Violets with their so unviolet-like leaves are also having their season.
And Bullhead-Lily with its cupping yellow sepals is at its shining best.
