This morning newly fledged Starlings are following their parents and begging to be fed.
Fresh-from-the-egg caterpillars (species unidentified) cluster on this blade of grass. Out of the sixty I counted perhaps one or two will reach adulthood.
And the tiny pink dangling flowers of Dogbane are starting to open. Within a few days the beautifully iridescent Dogbane Leaf Beetles will appear. Larvae of this beetle feed on the roots of the Dogbane and pupate in the soil before emerging. To each its season!
