Today Dwarf Dandelion is in flower.
Along the West River Mountain Laurel is opening a few blossoms - a preview of the show to come.
Frostweed's fleeting flowers are open. Each is open only in sunlight and lasts but one day. Later in the season Frostweed produces cryptic, petal-less flowers thus insuring fertilization.
And Carrion flower's greenish fetid-smelling flowering announced itself with an odor like spoiling meat.
