Shining Ladies Tresses - an orchid family member - are in flower. I find them on riverbanks.
Common Wood Sorrel glows brightly in the woods.
And in riverside thickets and on gravel bar islands Blue False Indigo lives up to its name. In Vermont these plants are garden escapes and are spreading quite aggressively.
