This female Eastern Dobsonfly showed up at my house this morning. Dobsonfly larvae known as Hellgrammites prey on aquatic invertebrates in fast flowing streams.
White Vervain is starting to flower.
And thousands of these little moths - known as American Ermine moths - clotted vegetation near Dummerston Landing. The larval food plant of this species is Euonymous.
