Canada Lily is flowering in colors from yellow to deep red.
Both Pointed-leaved and Hoary Tick Trefoil flowers are open. Tick Trefoils have racemes of pink or purplish pea-like flowers. The seed pods have hooked hairs and cling to clothing.
AN occasional Wild Sensitive plant has opened its tiny yellow flower. This species reacts to touch, folding its leaflets as if protest to our handling.
And Pipsissewa, AKA Prince's Pine, is in season. Its evergreen leaves and waxy white or pinkish flowers while not showy are unique and I always look forward to finding them.
