Tartarian Honeysuckle is starting to tint thickets and field edges.
A tiney blue butterfly - probably an Eastern Tailed Blue - puddled on a path while I took its picture. In this species males are the more vivid blue. Females are drabber.
And the unglamorously named Dog Violets dotted the forest floor not far from the West River.
