Bear on the East-West Road

Whit Wheeler met a bear in his driveway at 7:45 a.m. (near Partridge Road).
The bear turned around, ambled across the East-West Road, and down the hill toward Salmon Brook.

Old Bear Scat

Bear scat. O-l-d bear scat in our 1-acre "field." Near my vegetable garden. From last fall?
It's all white now.

On Saturday, June 26, Bill McKim was biking on Quarry Road. About 100 yards north of the iron bridge, he saw a bear walking across the West River (toward Route 30). Some people had stopped on Route 30 and were walking back toward the bear. This caused the bear to turn around and head back to Quarry Road.
