5-18 Round-leaved Ragwort, White Clover, One-flowered Cancer Root, Red Eft

5-18 This morning Round-leaved Ragwort was putting on a show.

White Clover is opening a few flowers.

One-flowered Cancer Root, AKA Ghost Pipe, is a parasitic plant of woods, thickets and in this case old fields.

And a Red Eft had climbed to the towering height of 6 inches in a patch of Hemp Nettle. I had not ever imagined that weed climbing was among the Red Eft's necessary skills! John
