The rose-purple flowers of Fringed Polygala, AKA Flowering Wintergreen or Gaywings, are open. This is a flower of moist woods and roadsides.
The alien Tartarian Honeysuckle is also starting to open a few flowers. The shrub frequents thickets and old fields.
