Today Ground-Nut with its "distinctive, sweetish odor" is running rampant over thickets and weed patches.
A Great Black Wasp nectared on Virgin's Bower.
And a Black-rimmed Prominent moth waited out the daylight hours hanging on a scrap of lumber.
The season grows short for many insect species.
