The flower umbels of wild Sarsaparilla are opening their tiny white flowers on separate stalks below their leaves. In wet areas, Cuckoo-flower is in bloom. The relatively large 4 petaled flowers of Cuckoo-flower can be either white or pink - as is in this case-making it an oddity among the mustards.
In the West River American toads were trilling lustily.
And a big black and yellow Tiger-swallowtail butterfly was wafting along over Camp Arden Road.
